General presentation

  Forges Pinay was founded in 1953 by Fernand Pinay in Thiers, the cradle of the French cutlery industry. Seven years later, the company was built on the site of Le Fau, where it is still present nowadays.

  Throughout the years, Forges Pinay succeeded in increasing its productivity and competitivity thanks to the acquisition of new machines and the extension of its buildings. This modernization helped the company to enter the international stage. Currently, exportations represent 70% of the total turnover.

  The diversification of its products has always been a guiding light for the development of the company, whether it was for knives cast in one piece, for scissors, for scalpels or even for trowel stems. Forges Pinay has built a large and varied range of products all over the years of its existence.

  Due to a high mastery of the technique of cold-forging, plus to a well-established know-how, Forges Pinay became a leader in its own sector.
